Grade 6 students participated in Kalamkari painting on 28 June 2019. Kalamkari literally means, Kalam - pen and kari - work, i.e., art work done using a pen. The art of painting using organic dyes on cloth was popular in several parts of India, but this style of Kalamkari flourished at SriKalahasti and Masulipatnam. The Kalamkari tradition chiefly consists of scenes from Hindu mythology. Figures of deities with rich border embellishments were created for the temples.
A special performance was given by JPS students on International Yoga Day on 25 June 2019, in the presence of Smt. Bhanumathi Narasimhan at The Art of Living international Center. Rahul of Grade 10 secured 2nd place in the Yoga competition.
International Yoga Day was celebrated by JPS students from Kindergarten to Grade 10, JVN and Pre-university were part of the program. Ms. Eesha Buwa from The Art of Living International Centre was the special guest who gave 'life' to the program.
Grade 8 students visited Hulikere Tunnel built by Mysore Odiyar, Sri Rangapatna-Nimisamba and Ragnaganatha Swamy temple on the occasion of field trip on 22 June 2019. The field trip has rejuvenated the young mind with ample knowledge and first-hand experience about various historical places.
JPS in association with Karnataka Freestyle Yoga Association organised the 5th Karnataka State Freestyle Yoga Championship on 18 June 2019. 10 schools actively participated in the competition. Overall championship Winner were Jain Public School and Runner-Up was BGS World School, Chikkaballapur.
JPS student, Hemanth Gowda of Grade 9 who is a State Level Kabbadi player has brought laurels to our institution by winning Gold Medal over Tamil Nadu team. The semi-finals was played against Goa.
Master Manoj Gowda P M of Grade 6 has won the 'National Level - Rank 2' in the Indian Talent Examination Olympiad and was rewarded with INR 10000 as cash prize. Indian Talent Olympiad identifies and nurtures student talent, leading to improved academic performance.
Grade 8 students actively participated in the 'Dominos art', a collaborative art form which enhances the physics, math and art skills. Students worked as a team and each team consisted of 15 to 17 students. They learnt to respect each other’s space and worked together to deliver a 'message'.
A workshop on 'Classroom Management and 21st Century Skills' was conducted for the management and staff on 25 May 2019. Teachers were engaged in various workshops conducted by our Principal, Mrs. Suma Athri, Mr. John Nogueira, Orient Blackswan and Mr. Mithun from Next Education.
